The team at LifeSkills created intensive programs to focus on specific sensory-neurodevelopmental goals. After an initial evaluation, our clinical coordinator prepares the goals and the treatment plans for these programs, which are individualized for your child. They are research-based and applied by therapists with vast clinical experience. We provide our “Parent Guide for LifeSkills Intensive Program” booklet at the beginning and a summary report at the end of each intensive program. Your therapist will do a consultation at the end to go over the intensive therapy program, explain what has been done from a sensory perspective, and answer any questions you may have, with recommendations.
We believe in working with parents as a team to reach the intended goals for every child. To that end, our intensive therapists communicate with parents daily and have a final meeting at the end of the program. We enthusiastically help/guide/support our parents! Our therapists meet every Tuesday together and present “their kids” to get even more ideas and insights from the entire LifeSkills team.LifeSkills’ reputation, process, and outcomes in this specialized field have brought us clients not only from Florida but from throughout the US and various countries worldwide.
We offer Short-Term and Summer Intensive Programs, described below.

Short-Term Intensive Program
"Be AWARE of your child, UNDERSTAND your child, HELP your child."

This intensive treatment program is ideal for children struggling with motor, sensory, attention, language, and related problems and who need an extra academic boost to better succeed at school. It's perfect for parents who want maximum results in the shortest amount of time. Come to our clinic in Maitland for 10 hours per week. Kids come for two hours per day and build up a momentum of learning that can produce dramatic results. As a result, children who are struggling in school are given a greater opportunity to be better prepared for the academic day.
Maximum results make this therapy approach perfect for helping children both in school and at home.
Some results can include:
Improved behavior
Greater ability to stay focused and pay attention
Improved ability to work independently
Fewer meltdowns
Improved social skills
Greater sense of calm, less anxiety
Increased ability to retain academic information
This focused schedule allows your child and therapist to accelerate learning and integration in a way not possible with standard treatment. As a result, the therapy has a greater impact on the child with a higher rate of success—sooner than with traditional treatment.
Who qualifies for an intensive?
Any child exhibiting problems with attention, language skills, hyperactivity, hypersensitivity, ADHD, behavior problems, overload or any other difficulty that may be associated with sensory/motor integration is a candidate.
Summer Intensive Program

Don’t know how to transition your child from the structure and routine of school to the leisure time of summer? How do you prepare your child to go back to school after summer vacation? Every parent wants their children to have fun during the summer and then smoothly go back to school.
School to summer and summer back to school—these are really big changes for kids and it can be even harder for some kids.
If it is not easy for your child to make these transitions, there is help!
You can prepare by learning about the signs of difficulty specific to your child and how to use calming strategies. This intensive program provides sensory integration therapy especially focused on calming children, teaching them how to modulate their sensory system and ready themselves for these big changes. The program aims to produce successful, stress-free transitions between vacation time and school time!
