My son would not have come as far as he has without LifeSkills...

My son had a lot of trouble focusing, sitting still (24/7 movement even in his sleep), falling asleep, spinning constantly.

I looked for sensory integration / OT for him for a while after we moved here. Unfortunately, everyone who advertised or claimed to know about sensory integration fell short. I was told several times that he didn’t need or qualify for sensory integration therapy, which I knew was wrong.  I kept researching and set an hour each way limit and found LifeSkills through a google search.

My son was evaluated and followed by an Occupational Therapist and Speech therapist in Connecticut since he was 4 years old. They wrote a program for me to follow at home. I was doing that, but I felt it wasn’t enough.  After hearing what the evaluation results were and sharing them with his other therapists, we knew we found a good match for us.

Our only obstacle was the distance from our home. It limited us to a 5:00 appointment. But we didn’t wait long for something to open up and it was completely worth it.

I would say they know him and what will work but are not afraid to try different approaches or push him out of his comfort zone.

Our favorite part of LifeSkills is how it feels like family. They have watched him grow up and know him so well. He is not happy when we have to change to virtual or if there is a Monday or Thursday we do not go. It’s not just a business, LifeSkills care so much about us as we do about LifeSkills.

Everything is great. It’s warm, friendly, clean and inviting.

Our experience was that LifeSkills was open to working with my child when nowhere else would. They listened to my input as a parent and took that into consideration when treating my son. He is completely comfortable and looks forward to going. I would definitely recommend other parents to work with LifeSkills, they will not be sorry. It was life-changing for him. I know he would not have come as far as he has without LifeSkills.
